Eggy Bread Recipe

My special twist!

Eggy bread has always been one of my favorite foods to snack on. As a kid I used to get my mum to make it me for dinner/tea... But obviously I'm 18 now so I thought about making it myself. The first time I made it for myself, I'll be honest; I wasn't hopeful but I actually gave it a little twist of my own and made it taste even better. Honestly, now I prefer my version compared to the version I had as a kid. Here I'm going to give you my version of events and how I make it with that special twist!

What you will need:
  • 2 slices of bread (or more, depending on how many slices you want).
  • 2 eggs (also depending on how many slices you want to make).
  • A mixing bowl
  • Cooking oil
  • Pan
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Jam

Cooking time: I'm going to show you two different methods to making this; my way and the way it used to get cooked for me. The cooking time for each one is different and makes a huge impact on how they are going to turn out. My Eggy Bread takes around 10-15 altogether. The other method takes about half of that :)

Step 1
Starting things off you want to crack both eggs into a mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper. Mix until you start to see bubbles forming.

Step 2
You then want to place your pan onto your cooker and turn the gas onto low/medium heat and add a tiny bit of oil. Then you can dip one slice of bread into the bowl, use a fork to help you. Make sure the bottom part of the bread is completely covered in the egg mixture before you turn it over and do the same to the other side. Once both sides are covered in the egg mixture you can then place the slice of bread into the pan.

Step 3
This is the difference between each method. If you're doing it the normal way then you would let it simmer for 3-4 minutes on each side, basically until it's got brown patches all over it and you would be done. But for my special method, you are going to let it simmer on each side for about 10 minutes. Whilst doing so, you can get a spatula and press down on the bread. You will know that it's working when the juice/oil pushes out of the bread on to the sides of it. Keep doing this until it's flat (looks like it's been rolled over with a rolling pin). Although, this takes a lot longer to cook; it's totally worth it! You will know when it's ready because (look at the picture below) those brown patches that have started to appear in the top right hand corner will be plastered all over the bread on both sides.

Step 4
Sprinkle salt and pepper over your plate so that the bottom of the bread will get just as much seasoning as the top (this is optional). Place the slice of bread on to the plate and let it cool. Whilst you're letting that slice cool off, you can then dip your second slice of bread into the egg mixture and repeat the process.

Step 5
Now that both slices of Eggy Bread are done cooking, you can turn off your cooker if you haven't already and spread Jam on to both slices. (this is optional).

Step 6
Enjoy!!!

You can see how different the slices are; the top one is my special method (as I like to call it). Which makes the bottom one, the second method. They really do have a different taste and it's all down to how long you cook them for. Everything else is the same!

Pamper Night

A night in with your girls, your boyfriend or just by yourself it really doesn't matter, because a pamper night can be for anyone!

Seriously though, who doesn't love a good old pamper session?! If anyone has a better idea, then please... tell me.
Whether you're with your girls, your fella or if you just want a good old night in with yourself, a pamper night is for you! Everyone should treat themselves to a bit of self-indulgence now and again, no matter what age you are. Although I have ideas for a pamper night with your girls/fella, at this moment in time I wanna boost up your spirits for a 'romantic night in... with yourself'. Yes that's right, with yourself!! No-one else, just you! For steps on how to give yourself the best pamper night ever, read on.

Firstly, you want to make sure that you will be alone that night. If this is not possible, then at least give yourself some space from those around you, just focus on yourself. Ditch the cleaning and the washing, and put your feet up for a bit! Turn your phone and laptop off, make sure there is no distractions... You don't need social networking or later night texts, this is all about you and you have to keep reminding yourself of that. Keep telling yourself, that this night is for you and you only!

Secondly, you want to run yourself a nice hot bubble bath. Add a bath bomb if you have any (if you don't have a bath, you could always have a long hot shower), add some music to the room, not all that party jazz... you want relaxing music to get you in the mood. Then, dot candles all around the bathroom, and turn off all the lights. Remove any make up you have on your face, tie your hair up and get in the bath. Try reading a book whilst in the bath (be careful though!), even if you don't read books... it's never too late to start something new. If you think you've had enough, then fair enough... wash yourself. Take your time, you don't need to rush yourself. If you wash yourself slower, it'll make you more relaxed (trust me, I did it). Do everything you usually do in the bath... shave, wash your hair ect. But do it slowly! As weird as it sounds, it really does work! Pinky Promise.

If you're going to wash your hair in the bath or if you're having a shower, make sure to spend at least 3 minutes rubbing the shampoo into your scalp. It feels great. When it comes to the conditioner, make sure to focus more on the ends of your hair rather than your scalp. Leave it in for a minutes to let it sink in. Then, if you're daring enough; wash it off with cold water. Yup, freezing cold water. This will give your hair a softer feel. Don't forget to wash your face either!

Once you're out of the shower, it's time to dry yourself or walk around the house butt naked. It's up to you haha! Put yourself a face mask on, and leave it on for the right amount of time it says on the packet. Whilst the face mask is on, you can give yourself a foot soak. This might sound silly because you've just come out of the bath/shower, but most people don't usually pay that much attention to their feet in the bath as they've got the rest of their body to think about! Fill a small tub or bucket with warm water and add baby oil with vitamin E to soak your feet in. Have on hand your favorite foot scrub and scrub your feet after your warm foot soaking. Have some cottons socks on hand for when you apply your Vaseline or foot cream to your feet. Once you've done that you're free to take off your face mask! Or maybe you've already done it whilst soaking the feet? The next best thing for you to do is do your usual facial routine whether that's applying toner/moisturizer to the face, or just drying it off. Don't forget to pay attention to your hands too! Your hands go through a lot during the day! They need some loving too! Wash them with your favorite hand soap, and then pat dry. Apply a hand sanitize to get rid of any germs and then apply a hand cream.

Now it's time for your body to get some treatment! Add body lotion to your whole body except the legs and don't forget to spray some deodorant under those pits! For the legs, add some cocoa butter to make them nice and smooth. Get yourself in to the habit of taking great care of your teeth if you haven't already. Brush your teeth for at least 3 minutes. Give each tooth special attention, brush in tiny circles being sure to also brush your gums. Don't forget, you can also brush your tongue (or if you have one of those brushes with a tongue brush that's great too). Remember, to floss afterwards and use a mouthwash. Now your mouth should be minty fresh!

You may go downstairs now and get cooking or be lazy (which is exceptional in this case) and order yourself a take away. Whichever you decide, enjoy! Whilst waiting for the food to either cook or arrive, do your nails! Paint them in anyway, shape or form or give yourself a facial massage. It's important that you don't watch TV whilst eating; this tricks the stomach into thinking you want more, when in actual fact you're full. (Google it, long story).

Lastly, once you've finished your tea/dinner... you can now finally put your feet up, wrap yourself up in a warm snugly blanket and watch your favorite film!

What's needed:
  • A night in on your own
  • Bubble bath (for those with a bath)
  • Face mask
  • Book
  • Music
  • Bucket/Tub
  • Blanket
  • Film
Although, a pamper night is lovely you don't have to spend the whole night doing it. You can easily pamper yourself every day just by doing little things. Make sure you always get enough sleep, on average that's about 8 hours per night. Get enough rest too, this doesn't mean sleeping more like putting your feet up. Exercise in moderation and eat healthily. Listen to soothing music from time to time. Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Try out DIY ways of making facial masks.

Hope this helped, enjoy the pampering!
