Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Hello again!

So today I've decided to another recipe for you all... something I'm sure you will enjoy reading as well as doing it yourself. I'm not lying when I say that they taste incredible. I am a huge fan of Oreo's ever since they came out for the first time. I have made sure to enjoy every last nibble of them so when I came across this mouth watering recipe, I just had to try it out for myself & I was a amazed at how tasty they actually was! It's not as hard as I thought it was going to be either. I actually found it really easy to do, and it was something that both me and boyfriend enjoyed making. We enjoyed eating them so much, we decided to make another batch of them.

This is the picture I came across.
As you can see it's an Oreo baked inside a chocolate chip cookie.
Yummy!

Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 28 minutes
Servings: 2 dozen

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks or 1 cup of softened butter
  • 3/4 cup of light brown sugar
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • A cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 pack of Oreo's.

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream the butter and the sugars together with a mixer until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with the chocolate chips until it is all combined together.
  6.  Using a cookie scoop, take one scoop of the mixture and place it on top of 1 Oreo cookie.
  7. Take another scoop of the mixture and place it on the bottom of that Oreo cookie.
  8. Seal the edges together by pressing and cupping with your hand until the Oreo is enclosed with the dough.
  9. Do the same thing with the rest of the Oreo's and Cookie dough.
  10. Place them each onto a well greased baking tray or cooking sheet, the cookies will expand to a large size so do not put them close together.
  11. Bake the cookies for 9-13 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. To check to see if they are ready on the inside, insert a fork into the middle of one of them and if it comes out clear then they are ready.
  13. Let them cool for 5 minutes before transferring onto a cooling rack.
  14. Once they are all cool, pour yourself a glass of milk & enjoy!
Here is my first attempt at making them :)

Childhood Survey

Late 90's - Early 2000

1. What was your favorite childhood film?

Barney's Night Before Christmas was my all time favorite film as a child, I wouldn't just watch this at Christmas time but I'd watch it all year round too. I remember going up to my Mum's friend's house; Lorraine, because she had the film on tape. Looking back it must of seemed a little cheeky; Going up there, taking over her living room and making her watch the film over and over again. This film was released in 1999.

2. What was your favorite childhood cartoon?

I would 100% have to say Rugrats, it was the coolest cartoon ever made in my opinion. Because I was only a toddler when I started
watching it I could totally relate to what they was thinking and doing; because the show focuses on a group of toddlers, and their day to day lives. It would create adventures in the babies' imaginations, which is exactly what I remember doing as a child.
Rugrats went on to make a TV special 'All grown up' which focused more on the fact that they wasn't toddlers anymore, but they still got up to their usual tricks. This for me wasn't as good as the original Rugrats, and therefore I stopped watching it.

3. What was your favorite music artists/bands?

I would have to say S Club 7 because to be totally honest I still listen to their music now! I have great memories from S Club 7 songs, and I even went on to enjoy S Club 7 Juniors too.

4. What was your favorite toys as a child?

I have so many too choose from really... but luckily I have a Pinterest Album featuring all of my beloved memories. Check it out, you never know you might see something that you loved once upon a time too.

5. Favorite food as a child?

I have two really. The first one is Ravioli which is a traditional type of Italian filled pasta. They are composed of a filling sealed between two layers of thin egg pasta dough and are served with pasta sauce. The second one I couldn't get enough of was Jam + Honey on toast and/or Sandwiches. As a toddler, I would eat this without a doubt at least twice a day; both for breakfast & Supper. I remember though one time, my mum brought me a bottle of honey in a bear shaped bottle and I wouldn't eat it. I just refused. The bear was so damn adorable and it didn't seem right eating it's insides, bless me.

6. Favorite gadget as a child?

I'm not sure if this is really classed as a gadget but I'll go ahead and say it anyway! I really enjoyed playing with a Dance Mat which I received as a present for Christmas. I would spend hours playing on it, with or without my friends joining in.

7. Favorite computer game as a child?

Back when I was younger, no-one really used the internet very much. The only thing I remember using on here was Paint. I'd use it all the time when I got a chance to use the computer. I'd draw the weirdest paintings, which in my eyes looked amazing. There's also Minesweeper, which is a weird game that I never and still don't understand. Yet I still went on it, why?

8. Year you was born in?

I was born in 1995. October the 11th to be precise.

9. Favorite TV Programme as a child?

Teletubbies & Tweenies! There isn't even a word to describe how much I loved these programmes. I also loved loved loved 'Some mothers do ave em. Which I used to just call "Frank Spencer". It was the best comedy ever made to be honest.

10. Remember any VHS tapes?

Yes! I remember Sooty & Sweep;the pantomime and the burglar. Cinderella which was actually made in 1950, and Dumbo (which always made me cry). I still can't watch Dumbo without crying now, and I'm 17!

11. Do you miss those days when you was younger?

Most defiantly! Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to grow up and now I'm grown up I want to be a child again. Those days were so much better; there was no highly expensive mobile phones, flat screen TV's or and I'm sure you'll agree with me here, there was no worries. Life was simple. You didn't have to worry about what make up you was going to wear, if you looked fat in your outfit or if your hair looked great. You could run around the town screaming and shouting without it being a big deal. You could drop food down your clothes without it being the end of the world. No-one judged you back then... and you actually had friends that you would've trust with your life. Life now is completely different to when we was younger, and if I could go back to it all then I would without a doubt.

12. Did you ever own a pair of light up sneakers?

I'm afraid not, but what I did own was a pair of light up school shoes! Every time I took a step the shoes would flash purple, and my teacher would tell me off. But what could I do?? Stop walking? Hahaha

13. Cinderella or Snow White?

Cinderella ALL THE WAY.

14. Did you ever try to stay up on Christmas Eve to see if you could see Santa Claus?

Didn't we all?

15. Did you ever leave anything for Santa Claus?

Yes, of course! I'd leave him two mince pies and a glass of milk. I'd also leave a bucket of water n carrots for the reindeer's outside and I'd sprinkle Magic Dust all over the pathway towards my house so that he could find me obviously...

16. What Power Ranger did you like to think was you?

The pink one in Power Ranges SPD :)

17. Barney or Sesame Street?

Is it bad that I don't even know what Sesame Street is? I'll have to go with Barney, 'cos I mean I did love that Christmas special.

A day out in CARSINGTON WATER :)
-with my sister and boyfriend obviously.

So today, well I say today... I actually mean yesterday because it's 03.45 am Tuesday morning right now and it was Monday that we went so yeah yesterday; Me, my boyfriend Ryan and my sister Cody all had a day trip to Carsington Water. Day trip? Well I'd like to think it was a day trip, we didn't actually spend that long there but that was by no fault of my own although I would like to pin the blame on Ryan since it was his doing... really it was! I'll start from the beginning shall I?

It was May day, Bank Holiday and we had the best weather for it. Temperatures up to the 20's which let's be honest is weird for us in the UK as we usually have rubbish weather. I do like to whine a bit though and I must say it was a bit chilly if the breeze hit you, especially if you was sitting in the shade. (which is kind of the point, but shh). Anyway, I'm not really an out going person anymore, long story short; I was bullied a few years back and never got my confidence fully back. Which really sucks, especially in the summer... but it's something I'm dealing with, and I must say I'm quite proud of myself for leaving the house and actually doing something instead of staying in watching Daytime television all day. The day started off brilliantly to be honest, I was getting ready upstairs whilst blasting out some old tunes from the 20th century, (being honest; it was the only thing decent enough on the music channel), and Ryan was outside cleaning out his car. Once ready, I came downstairs to find that my doggy who's name is Jess by the way (lil jessykins) bless her, had sneaked out the front door and took herself on a walk down the road. At the time though, we didn't know where she was as she'd never ran off before, but I reckon she must of had a brainwave that if we wasn't going to take her out, then she'd just have to go by herself & if you think about it, it is actually quite funny. We ran out that door faster than you could say 'cheeeeeeese'. Ran all the way down our road, and then down another road to find her on someone's garden jumping around, playing with some kids and a football. It looked like the perfect little family outing, only it was on some randomer's garden with OUR dog and once you got closer, you could tell that those people wasn't happy that she'd interrupted their day. So there we all was; my mum, Ryan & myself walking back up the street, out of breath, hot & sweaty. Jess didn't look so bothered though, I bet she had some right fun on her little journey. I would of loved to of taken her out, but she's still got her winter coat on and is molting quite badly, and since Ryan has decided to clean out his car, we didn't think it would be the best idea to put her in there as the fur would never come out of the seats! We have all summer though, and it's probably best that she stayed in if you think about it, because she'd of been really really hot.

Anyway, off subject. (You'll see that I tend to this a lot).
Me and Ryan really wanted my sister Cody to join us, as she doesn't go out much either... and if you're wondering why I didn't invite my mum (it's not because I'm a horrible person, but because she started work at 2.00pm). So we decided to head to Derby City Center to give Cody some time to get ready. Derby isn't that far from Belper so we knew we'd only be like an hour. I felt all summery in my bright pink dress and flip flops, although a tan would of been nice... we haven't seen the sun in so long, you could of mistaken me for milk I'm that white. We had a look round River Island and then went on to Shakin' It & for those who have no idea what that is, it's a little area in Westfield Shopping Centre that makes/sells Milkshake kinda things, out of any chocolate bar or sweets you wish. I have always had the same since it opened for the first time, and that's the Oreo Milkshake. Probably seems a bit boring, but I don't dare change it in case I don't like another flavor. The next stop was Primark; Ryan brought me some lovely sunglasses which remind me of a bubble bee (I don't know why they just always have) you know, those big ones that go way above your actual eyes? and they had little gold diamonte's on the sides. Only £3 too!

Back in my hometown, we picked Cody up as mum had already left for work by that time... Locked up and set off for our day trip. There's something about me and my family always being late, it doesn't matter what time we get up, we always sit and do nothing until it's too late, and we have to rush around. Does anyone else do that? Probably just us, but never mind we can always hope. We fancied a little drink to get us in the Summer mood even though it isn't Summer, knowing the UK though it's probably the best we'll see of it. So we brought ourselves a bottle of wine to share (not Ryan as he was driving) and some plastics cups. Ryan needed the Sat Nav to find his way to Carsington Water as the last time Me and Cody came we was a lot younger, and we've slept a lot since then, so we didn't know how to get there without it. As usual though, it takes us the longest way possible, doing the complete opposite of what it's supposed to do, just our luck. Sends us along all these country roads, that was unbelievably scary if we passed another car, as the roads were only big enough for one car at a time, oh and the air smelt really bad as there was a lot of animals doing their business' in the fields next to the road, yuk! So finally we could see the lake, and boy was it beautiful! We turned into the car park and parked up. Me and Cody though knew that it wasn't the same place as we used to go as children, and thought that it'd either been changed completely or we was in the wrong place. Which would you think? Well, we was in the wrong place, but Ryan was certain that we wasn't and made us get out the car, to walk. Now this is a very strong subject that both Me and Cody hate talking about, not just talking but doing it also. WALKING, there's nothing I hate more than walking, it's so boring and especially in hot weather my feet would soon start to hurt and sweat along with me in general. I dread to think, ugh.

So we got out the car, walked past the ice cream van :( and up onto this small channel area. All these people were carrying rucksacks, and walking their dogs oh and riding their bikes, and then there was us... moaning and wining because WE ARE LAZY PEOPLE. We walked for about 5 mins before stopping at a bench, we took some pictures, had a sneaky cigarette (I will quit soon) and a cheeky little drink of wine. Then we got walking again, it's only when we got about quarter of the way round that we realized we really was in the wrong part, and that walking would take at least an hour, and then we'd only have to walk back again. So we decided the best idea was to walk all the way back to the car, and do what we should of done at the start an drove down to right part. I was knackered, and I was cranky. Like really cranky. We all was. Although, a nice cold ice cream soon sorted us out. It was bloomin' expensive though, a 99 ice cream with a flake usually costs 99p, but this was an ice cream without a flake and it still cost £1.50 each! Though, it did have these amazing sauces all over it, red green & blue... nom. No excuses for the price though!! Finally we was in the right place, the place we should of been all along! It was perfect. The sun was shining, the kids were playing and the ducks were quacking. I was bustin' for the toilet though, so we quickly had to find one. Straight after we went and found a lovely spot on the grass, looking over the lake & the park. Seeing everyone's barbecue's, wishing we had bought one. We was only lay down for about 20 mins when we realized people was leaving already. We stayed about another 20 mins, so 40 mins in total but then it started to get really breezy so we decided to come back! Can't say it was what we had planned for the day, but it wasn't all bad & at least I was actually out of the house, in the sun, drinking wine with my boy & my sister. Aw.

I don't have a phone at the moment, it's broken :( but I took a few pictures which you'll see at the top on my boyfriend's phone! I edited them because well don't you think pictures look SO much better when they are edited? I do anyway. I didn't take many, but I've found a few on Google Images for those who don't know what Carsington Water is. So no they are not my pictures at the bottom of the page :)

Kit-Kat Cake Recipe
also pictures of the one I made with my boyfriend & sister!

So this is the picture that I copied myself... I got this picture from http://www.madeinmelskitchen.com.
But honestly this recipe is so easy, you won't even need to check that out!
All you need is a purse full of money ready to spend on the most divinest chocolate ever made.

So first thing you'll most defiantly need to make this scrumptious cake is nothing more than the ingredients!

I found this picture online belonging too http://www.wifelifebeautyxo.com. I used this to get the ingredients, so as you can see it's pretty simple.

Ingredients:

  • Betty Crockers Devils Food Cake Mix - 1 box
  • Betty Crockers Chocolate Fudge Icing - 1 tub
  • Kit Kat Multi-Packets - x2 - You'll need around 35 kit kat's so I bought two Multi Packs plus 1 normal sized bar.
  • Vegetable Oil - 70ml (4½ tbsp)
  • Water - 250ml
  • 2 x 8" well greased cake tins
  • 2 large packets of M & M's or any decoration of your choice.
  1. Firstly what you need to do is bake the cake! This is really really easy as all you need to do is add the eggs, water and oil to Betty Crockers Devils Food Cake Mix. Mix this all together gently with a whisk either by hand or with an electrical mixer. Do this for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  2. Then you need to pour the mixture into your cake tins, making sure that the tins are well greased in order for your cake not to stick. You also need to make sure that the both tins have an evenly enough cake mixture each.
  3. The last part of baking the cake is simple; bake the two tins in the middle of the oven between 23-28 minutes. The oven needs to be set at 180°C (160ยบ for fan assisted ovens) / Gas Mark 4. Insert a fork into the middle of each cake to see if it comes out clean or not, if it does then the cakes are ready, if they don't then they are not. Once the cakes are ready, leave them on a wire rack to cool. They need to be completely cool in order to decorate. Once both of the cakes are cooled off, sandwich them together using Betty Crockers Chocolate Fudge Icing.
Now for the fun part!! DECORATING!

  1. Decorate the outer part of the cake with Kit Kat's. Make sure they are in two's and try not to split them in half, it doesn't matter if you do but I found it easier to do it in two's. Put them all around the cake, gently pressing them into the icing to make sure they are really stuck down, and won't fall off.
  2. To finish the cake off, add all of your M & M's to the top of the cake; I preferred it when they over lapped each other, but it's really up to you. Then WALLAH. IT'S READY :)
Very last thing you need to do, is take a few pictures of your master piece, and ENJOY! I hope you like it as much as I did! Here are a few pictures from the one I made. (They are edited pictures, because it was night time and the room was very dark, so I've brightened them up a bit for all to see).

My Opinion?
I honestly 100% loved it! The actual chocolate cake was aaamazing, and so tasty! Will defiantly be making this again. Not only did I love it, but so did my boyfriend and sister too! The cake is so moist, it pretty much melts on your tongue as soon as you put it in your mouth. When cutting the cake, the Kit Kat's do tend to fall off, but it's not a worry as they'll be eaten anyway! Also, I recommend eating it either on the day or the day after, and not to leave it out too long because the M & M's do go a bit soft. Some people may find this a little sickly if they've eaten quite a bit, but I was not one of those people therefore just couldn't stop eating it until it was gone, oops!
