Competition Wins!

Competition Wins

I've recently found a new hobby and I have to admit that first off I was a bit wary about the whole thing... But after coming away with a few prizes and can now honestly say, that I am addicted.

I haven't won many prizes, but coming from someone who hasn't won anything in her life except 1 Easter egg in Primary School, I'm very chuffed with how things have gone so far and so there's no looking back now.

I enter competitions all over Facebook and Twitter as I find these are the best places to win them. It's also really easy to do so on these websites.
On Twitter, the majority of the time all you have to do is "Follow & Retweet" & on Facebook, again the majority of the time all you have to do is "like the page, share the post or enter your name and email address". It's as simple as that!

These are the prizes that I've won so far! :)

60 sachets of cat food from Almo Nature

A Wax Miracles car freshener from Wax Miracles

A Hello Kitty Necklace from UKDailyDealz

I've also won 2 tickets to Race Retro 2014 (which haven't arrived yet as I only won them last week) and 8 free passes to Paint Balling!

So as you can see, it's not a lot but it's certainly a start and I can't wait to win more prizes! :)

Have you ever won anything, if so... what? I'd love to know!

xx

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub Review

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub Review

£8.00 Boots

First off let's have a round of applause for the adorable packaging. Soap & Glory always know how to wow their customers with their cute pink packaging. It's no wonder I'm a huge fan of Pink! I've always been a huge fan of Soap & Glory products but this one tops them all. I love a good body scrub and I find that this does it's job perfectly not to mention the incredible smell that comes along with it!

This scrub has brown sugar crushed in to it with added sweet lime, almond oil and macadamia grains.

Brown sugar compared to White sugar is great for your skin because the particles in Brown sugar exfoliate your skin which clears away dry and dead skin cells. This helps create a smoother skin feel and lends a youthful glow.

Sweet Lime is beneficial for the skin because it has a high concentration of vitamin C and flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants.

Almond oil is used because it helps in protecting your skin, preventing common skin problems and keep it looking youthful and healthy.

Macadamia is known to help treat a number of different 'problems'. Dry skin being the first of many. Macadamia is easily absorbed into the skin and does not have a greasy residue. It also works well to help Anti-Aging and Healing and Blemishes.

Put all of these together, and you've got the perfect scrub! Which is exactly why I'm in love with this from Soap & Glory. They really know how to knock our socks off don't they?!

The constancy of this scrub is thick and gooey and the sugar content isn't so much to be overly abrasive unlike other scrubs which I've used that I've found to be to rough on the skin.

The smell is my favorite part although I have to admit when I first had a whiff of it, I didn't like it. After using it over & over again though, I've grown to like it. I love it in fact! The smell is so sweet, very refreshing and quite zingy. It's very strong but it leaves a long lasting smell so it's not to bad. My boyfriend is always telling me how lovely I smell and I guess it's all thanks to this product!

I will use this product at least once a week. I don't want to use it to often, as it could damage my skin but I do use it especially on those special days/nights if I'm off somewhere nice. I tend to use this when I'm in the bath... although I make a promise to myself to either wash my hair first or wash it after with the shower head (as I don't want any grains of sugar stuck in my hair). But when I'm going in the shower, instead of using it whilst I'm in the shower, I will coat my skin in it beforehand. So basically, before I step into the shower, I will cover my whole body from shoulder to toes in this product and then when I get in the shower, I will wash it off. This leaves my skin feeling absolutely amazing and I 100% promise you that it's worth it! Try it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

I rate this product:
Packaging - 9/10
Texture - 8/10
Smell - 8/10
Does it work? Yes!
Is it worth £8? Definitely.

If you have a favorite body scrub under £10 then let me know!
I'm always looking for a good bargain! :)

Oreo Ice Cream on a Spoon

Oreo Ice Cream on a Spoon

I've seen these recipes all over Pinterest, so I thought I'd make my own and try it out for myself... you know, to see if they really do taste good. Honestly? They do! If you haven't tried this yet, then where have you been?! But seriously, read this quick and easy recipe and you'll soon be on to a winner!

Ingredients
  • Milk - Any kind, it's really up to you. I used Semi Skimmed because that's what I'm used too, but you could use any kind.

  • Oreo's - Again, any kind. I used the plain ones because that's all that I could find in the Supermarket but I know a lot of places do 100's of different flavors. You could even mix them up and use different flavors.

Tools needed
  • a freezer
  • a spoon
  • a drinking glass (cup)
Steps

  1. Break up the Oreo's in to small pieces, depending on how big or small you want them.
  2. Put the pieces in a drinking glass (cup).
  3. Pour the milk in to the drinking glass... making sure you cover the pieces.
  4. Put your spoon in the middle of Milk and Oreo's.
  5. Put it in the freezer for a couple of hours (I put mine in for 2 hours).
  6. After a couple of hours, take out your ice cream and begin warming the glass up with your hands. This will help the ice cream slide out easily.
  7. Once it's out... enjoy!

The joys of being ill!

If you know me well enough, you'll know that I'm always ill. Aside from having Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I am so prone to getting the common cold/flu. Last week I was fine, this week... not so fine. Not only do I have the worlds worst cold, I've also managed to get Tonsillitis. I'm not sure if the cold is due to having Tonsillitis or if they're both separate illnesses. Either way, I don't like it but I still have to find a way to cope with it.

Beechams Max Strength Sore Throat Relief does my throat wonders. Honestly, it might not last all day but you can easily get a few hours a day without the pain of swallowing. They come in different flavors and I have to be honest, blackberry is my total fave. Not only do they taste nice, but they also have Local Anesthetic and Antiseptic inside of them. The Local Anesthetic is provide pain relief for the soreness and the Antiseptic is to fight bacteria in the mouth and throat. I buy mine from the pound shop, and for 20 Lozenges I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

I'm sure everybody knows what a headache is like, it's painful. That's why you should keep yourself pain free with Paracetamol. They might not be the best, but you can get other types of pain relief. I personally prefer to use just Paracetamol but I'm sure others prefer something a little better.

When you have a cold, your temperature can slide from being really hot and sweaty, to freezing cold and shaky. That's why I've always got a blanket on hand. Not only that, but it's so nice to cuddle up to something warm and fluffy whilst watching your favorite film.

When you're ill, your skin and lips can get very dry. It's important to moisturize both of these to give your skin the best chance of recovering. It's also extremely important to drink lots of water.

Don't forget to give yourself resting time. You need lots of energy for when you're feeling better so getting enough rest is vital.

Liebster Award

Hello my mini marshmallows!

So I recently received a lovely message from a girl who very kindly nominated me for a Liebster Award... Thank you!! :) Hannah has an amazing blog herself so please please check her out; Hannah Catherine. I find myself already hooked on to reading her blog, so you won't be disappointed, I can promise you that! :) Anyway, after a little bit of research on the subject I decided that I shall join in for the sake of not breaking the 'chain mail' and the chance of finding new blogs. It actually seems like a fun idea too :) So here are the Q&A's:

What 1 goal are you hoping to achieve by the end of this year?
I would like to overcome my Anxiety. I have suffered with it for many years and to be honest, I'm sick of it. I've missed out on a ton of stuff due to it and I feel that I would be much better off if I didn't have it.

What 1 beauty/makeup product would you recommend?
Well this is easy... The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I've already done a blog post on this, but for a quick over view; it's inexpensive, can be found at any drug store and it's good quality.

If you were given a free travel trip to anywhere, where would you choose to go and why?
Disneyland Florida! I would go because, yes I am a big kid at heart. I've always wanted to go to Disneyland but the reason I want to go to Disneyland Florida is because my boyfriend really wants a holiday in Florida. So we can hit two stones at once :)

What song have you had on repeat recently?
Bless the Broken Road - Rascal Flatts. I'm not really into this generation's music taste, and I love the tune to this song... It's just perfect.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
"Listen to your parents". Trust me on this one. It might seem like they're trying to ruin your life, but if they tell you that your new friend is 'trouble'... chances are, they probably are.

If there was an awards ceremony for vegetables, what would you choose as the best vegetable?
Potatoes! *says this in a Keith Lemon accent* - Why may you ask? Well, thanks to Potatoes we now have Chips and Mash Potato, what could be better than that?

What is your favorite perfume?
Kate Moss - Kate. I was given it for my 18th birthday, and every time I wear it... It reminds me of my birthday hehe.

Where do you get your blog ideas from?
Honestly? Other people's blogs, and Youtube. I'm not comfortable with starting my own Youtube Channel yet, although I would really like to sometime in the future but until then I'll carry on doing TAG posts inspired by TAG videos on Youtube.

If you only had 10 minutes to get ready, what would be the one thing you would do before stepping out the door?
Brush my teeth - if I was running late due to sleeping in late; Luckily, I don't mind going out with my hair a mess, no make up or wearing pj's but c'mon... you are bound to speak to someone, and no one wants a face full of a nasty breath!

What super power would you pick?
Being invisible - Although I'd love to read someones mind, I would much rather hear what they had to say about me "behind my back"... and well, who wouldn't want me to in Channing Tatum's shower with him ;) I wouldn't even have to pay flight tickets, because no one would see me get on the plane. Mwahahaha.

What is the scariest decision you have ever made?
I don't think I've had to make one yet but I'm 100% sure I'll have to make one in the future, so I'll let you know haha!

An unusual fact about yourself...
I can fold my tongue over. Yup, that's right... I can fold my tongue over and keep it there for as long as I want (without the help of my fingers).

Well, wasn't that fun? I hope you enjoyed all of my answers!
My nominations are:

Patricia Batatas

Big Mamma

Hayley Mac

Catherine Maria

Kendwy Valdez

Here's my 11 Questions for you girls to answer!

What were you like as a kid?
What is one of your favorite quotes of all time?
What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you or you have witnessed?
Do you use a moisturizer & if yes, which one?
